Roman copper alloy lorica segmentata tie ring
This tie-ring has a basal rib reduced to little more than a straight edge with projections at either end. The shank, of polygonal cross-section, is at a very slight angle to the rest of the fitting. This tie ring is closest to Category 2 but is slighter.
