Girl's fancy dress
Child's fairy fancy dress outfit worn by Margaret May Lucretia Lewis of Crumlin, about 1909-10.
High waisted, round neck, with centre back opening, fastened with hook and eye. Short puff sleeves. Underdress of cotton net, with overdress of silk, cotton, metal striped gauze. Centre back fastened in both net and overlay with hooks and eyes. Gathered ruff of bobbin lace at neck, wide pale pink silk ribbon at waist to tie in fullness of overdress, trimmed at ends with decorative metal thread decorative loops. The ribbon is secured at the waist of the dress by being stitched to the cotton net underdress at two points.
