Roman bone working waste
Cow scapula left side, which has been used in the manufacture of counters or buttons: one is stillin situ having broken in cutting. Shows how the faces were dished before or during cutting. Each circle was cut from both sides using a centre bit with an extended centre point to assist in aligning the drill on each side. Condition: battered.
