Spinning chair
Spinning stool with octagonal seat, four turned splayed legs and a tapering back splat with cut-out heart-shape to top of splat; the back splat has been highly chip carved to front with petal-shaped motifs tapering to base; back has also some chip-carving, as has surface of seat; the chip-carving was undertaken by the donor's mother, Amy Rees around 1905, before she was married; it's believed her father was responsible for laying out the pattern; she had attended furniture-carving classes and was also responsible for carving /1 and /2.
