S.S. ELSE (1410 Grt.). Built in 1900 by Nuscke & Co., Stettin (yard 109) as THURINGIA for Stettiner-Stolper Dampfschiffs Ges. (Stenzel & Rolke mgrs.), Stolpmunde (Germany). In 1904, she was sold to Emil R. Retzlaff, of Stettin who renamed her CURT RETZLAFF. In 1906, she became the AGGERSBORG of A/S D/S Neptun (C.K. Hansen mgr.), of Copenhagen. In 1918, Hansen transferred her to his A/S D/S Dannebrog. In 1923, she was sold to Red. A/B Siwa (E.R. Killman mgr.), Helsingborg (Sweden). In 1930, she went to Red. A/B Anglis (B.R. Bengtsson mgr.), also of Helsingborg and was renamed ELSE. For a few months in 1932 her owner were Bo Frick, of Stockholm, who resold her the same year to A/B Else O/Y (Seppinen & Kemppi mgrs.), of Koivisto (Finland). On 24 August 1941 she struck a mine off Samso and went down. Demolition work in situ was completed in 1951.
