Hilditch & Sons (Various partnerships of the Hilditch porcelains (c. 1811- c. 1867) include Hilditch and Martin (1812); Wm. Hilditch, Hilditch & Co., and Hilditch & Sons (1812-1832). William Hilditch retired in 1828 succeeded by his three sons: William, John and Joseph. By 1833 the eldest son, William, referred to the business as a partnership between him, his brother John and William Hopwood and were trading under the name of Hilditch and Hopwood. The last of the sons, John, died in 1843; his will recording that he and Hopwood were in partnership as 'Manufacturers of China, and Flint or Colour Grinders, at Lane End'. Hopwood carried the business on by himself until his death in 1858 trading under the name of Hilditch and Hopwood.)

Stand, bone china, circular with a shaped waved edge, footring; the central reserve is transfer-printed with a vase of flowers and a flowering chinoiserie plant, the rim is decorated with seven sprigs of thistle on which sits a bird.
