Jug
This is a piece of Turkish Iznik ware.
Jug, buff-coloured earthenware, flaring cylindrical foot-rim, globular body, high cylindrical foot-rim, plain loop handle; covered all over with a white slip ground, this then crudely decorated in blue, green, beige and black with around the exterior body and neck tulips and conventional rosettes, borders of scrolling black lines around the lower body and the top of the neck, a border of ovals and dashes around the shoulder, the handle decorated with dashes in blue, the jug covered with a lead glaze. The foot-rim and lip-rim badly chipped.
