Nantgarw China Works (1813 - 1822)
Plate, soft-paste porcelain, creamy white translucency, standing on a tapering foot rim, spreading sides; the rim moulded in six large and six small lobes; the whole being of warped appearance; painted in the centre with a geometrical design in pale chocolate brown, enclosed within a circular band containing white circles; the rim painted with a running vine leaf and grape pattern, consisting of bunches of grapes painted in puce, vine leaves and tendrils; a thin chocolate line beneath and wide chocolate band to outer rim.
