S.S. LA FONTAINE PARK (7130gt). North Sands type vessel built 1943 by United Shipyards Ltd., Montreal (engine by Dominion Engineering Works), for Park Steamship Co., Montreal, managed by McLean, Kennedy Ltd., Montreal). 1946 Assigned to MoWT managed by Lambert Bros., London, and by Mark Whitwell & Son for the Ministry of Transport from 1948. 1951 Sold to Fairview Overseas Freighters, and renamed PETERSTAR, managed by Lyras & Lemos Ltd, London. 1957 Sold to Modern Shipping Co., Monrovia, and renamed ASPIS. 1957 Sold to Prosperity Steamship Corp., Monrovia, and renamed PROSPERITY, managed by Vlassopoulos Bros. Ltd., London. 1959 Registered at Piraeus (same owner) and renamed POLYNIKI. 1965 Sold to Ivory Shipping Co., Monrovia, and renamed IVORY NEPTUNE. 1967 Ownership transferred to Marmando Cia Nav., Panama, then again to Soc de Transit Oriental S.A.L., Beirut. She was broken up at Shanghai in 1971.
