Roman copper alloy Trumpet brooch
The spring arrangement is standard; there is a stop for the lost wire head loop, the collar of which surivies; it has a panel of incised rope like decoration across the centre. The trumpet head has a narrow outer margin. The button is clasped between three leaved acanthus mouldings and all mouldings are half round only. There is a light ridge down the centre of the leg and narrow margins down each side, defined by lightly incised lines; the bow terminates in a large foot of three transverse mouldings.
