Inkwell
Inkwell, glazed earthenware, squat, bottle-shape body with circular base, the sides flaring slightly to a distinct shoulder, circular mouth with a thickened, short neck, possibly formed by folding over the clay at leather hard stage; the inkwell is made from earthenware with a grey-pink matrix with grit inclusions, a light grey slip has been applied to the body and mouth, as well as a thick greenish, glassy, highly vitrified glaze that has bubbled in the kiln, the base is unslipped and unglazed but has been very roughly smoothed; there is a section of loose, fired clay inside the inkwell.
