Plate, earthenware, octagonal shape with rounded foot-rim, cushion-moulded sides and spreading rim, the rim moulded with two concentric bands of embossed daisies, a ropework edge to the rim; transfer-printed in black and in-filled in polychrome enamels with to the centre of the well a harbour scene showing sailing boats, buildings and in the foreground a group of sacks and bales, the inscriptions "NO MONOPOLY / Free Trade / CORN / CHEAP / CORN / CORN / LAW" are printed on pennants, sacks and a piece of paper forming part of the scene, a pink lustre edge to the rim.
