Flagon
Flagon with an ovoid shaped bowl the upper part inscribed with “Originally this plate was a gift to Ruabon church Denbyshire April 1679, remade Anno Domini 1776. Sir Watkin William Wynne Bart. William Higgs esq church wardens. At 6 o’clock an engraved sunburst with a cross above the central letter of IHS. The lower part of the ovoid body is decorated with a vertical row of chased & repose waved laurel leaves. The flagon stands on a beaded edged spreading foot with laurel leaves on the domed foot. Beaded edge around the neck & spout. The hinged cover with a pineapple finial has an upturned flange recessed into the neck. Applied waved laurel leave on the top of the auricular handle.
