ss. TYNEMOUTH (3182gt) : Built 1940 by Sir James Laing & Son Ltd., Sunderland for Burnett Steamship Co., Newcastle-upon-Tyne 1952 – Sold to Sharp Steamship Co., Newcastle-upon-Tyne, and renamed SANDHOE (pic) 1963 – Sold to Animoni Cia Maritima SA, Panama City, and renamed ANDREAS PANOU. She sank on 3rd July 1966, following a collision with HOEGH AIGLONNE, five miles west of Cape Villano while en route from Setubal to Sas van Ghent with a cargo of pyrites .
