Patchwork quilt designed and made by Diana Jones of Laugharne, about 1988-1990.
Machine pieced top cover, made from pieces collected during 1970s and 1980s, consisting of some Liberty prints, Liberty lawn and some furnishing fabrics (glazed cottons). Shades of pinks, white, blues and greys; back is wholecloth Liberty fabric, patterned with tiny gingham check. Edged with pleated frill of pink/ blue cotton print. Filling is polyester wadding. Patchwork pattern is made on the cross, forming a chevron patterns with central vertical stripes. All quilting is hand done on a frame, using running stitch in Sylko thread. The quilting follows the patchwork pattern. Maker's label on back.
