Figure group of Samuel (right) and Eli (left), white earthenware with a crackle glaze, standing on an egg shaped base inscribed in orange raised capitals. Figures in biblical robes, Samuel bare footed, wearing a loose white calf length dress (?linen ephod) striped with green and tied at the shoulder with a green bow, shoulder length brown hair, standing with feet turned towards Eli, and with right arm loosely bent, left arm pointing upwards. Eli seated, and resting his black shoes on an orange cushion with a purple fringe tied with a gilt tassel at either corner, long blue skirt, purple sash with a gilt fringe, loose white shirt, chequered board around neck (a breastpiece of judgement) grey hair and beard holding right arm bent across body, and resting left forearm on an orange cushion fringed with purple and with gilt tasselled corners, which is standing in front of a large white ewer banded in green, and a white package? tied with blue string, the whole supported by a yellow pillar.
