Boots
Pair of black leather working boots. Worn by a member of the Women's Land Army in Essex, 1942-1945. Mottled leather uppers with laced fastening with nine sets of eyelet holes. Quarters triple stitched to vamp. Back strap double stitched to quarters. Tongue double stitched to vamp (all lapped seams). Thick leather sole and heel. Sole stitched and nailed to upper with flat headed nail reinforcement. Heel reinforced by thick leather top piece and heel iron.
