Stand for truncheon presented to William Picton Phillipps (10.01.1866 - 28.11.1955) on the occasion of his marriage, 3rd June 1895. He succeeded his father as Chief Constable of Carmarthenshire in 1908, and despite reaching the official retirement age in 1921, remained in this post until 1940. On his death the truncheon was bequeathed to Police Sergeant Enoch Daniel Jones, whose father was Deputy Chief Constable Peter Jones
