3/4 Port Bow view of the S.S. Alkaid c. 1932
Built 1937 by Deutsche Werft, Hamburg for Rotterdam Zuid Amerika Lijn :
1940 - seized by Germans and renamed RO11 and MR11: 1945 - repaired at Rotterdam and returned to her original name and owners : 1946 - in service for Nigico (Holland) : 1964 - sold to Panama renamed AGIOS NIKOLAOS III but later that year stranded during a storm at Sea Cow Head and declared a total loss : She was refloated and scrapped at Bilbao in 1965.
