Root grubber
Root grubber with two prongs. Known locally as a 'devil' because of the prongs being compared to a devil's horns.
It was the local blacksmith who made and repaired the farmer’s implements and tools. He made a huge variety of items, from nails, staples and pig nose rings to hand tools like pitchforks and dung hooks. During harvesting and other busy periods, the smithy would be open for long hours to do urgent repairs.
