Wedgwood, Josiah ((1730 - 1795))
Dish, deep cream-coloured earthenware, green tinged glaze crazed in places, oval boat-shape, with feather moulded edge and high upswept ends, projecting rococo scroll mouldings in the centre of each side, standing on three small cone-shaped feet. Painted in purple monochrome enamel with a sunflower, a campion, a rosebud and a rose leaf, all detached. Rim edged in the same colour.
