Money balance case
Money balance case of japanned tin-plate, oval in shape, hinged cover, the base partly lined with loosely woven hessian with green wool, the cover is lined with cream silk padded with horse hair, attached to base is a pink papier-mache stand with two holes into which two brass weights were originally slotted (not present), the scales have a horizontal steel balance with two brass dishes attached by green cords, attached to the top of the balance is a silk tassle; the case is covered with black japan and the upperside of the cover with a tortoiseshell japan.
