Closed carriage with high box seat in front for driver, covered with elaborate mantle (pale blue), trimmed with cut velvet panels in yellow and red (metal decoration missing) Springs and wood work of wheels painted dark blue, lined with white, yellow and mid blue. Wheels are iron branded, with plated hub caps (inscription Turrill and Sons London). Two elaborte candle lamps attached to the body of the carriage with glass holders, decoarted on top with coronet finials. Silver plated metal decoartions from carriage body are stored seperately in the original storage box. Silver plated door handles are cast with quartered arems with horse and deer supporters, surmounted by coronet with moto below AVITO VIRET HONORE. Padded folding steps attached below door; platform at rear for footman, above c-springs. Interior upholstered with buttoned pale blue satin, with brocaded flaps over pockets at front and on doors. All windows have brocaded pulls for raising and lowering: rose pink silk blinds on each window. Accessories include 4 leather hub cap covers, 1 coachmans cushion, 3 parcels conatining dust covers and box of decorations (containing 4 finials surmounted by coronets (in base) and crest on wooden tray (6 coronets, 3 helmets with dragon, 3 helmets with lion(one missing) [21.01.09 SP input from card]

Interior The interior is upholstered in pale blue silk satin with horsehair filling. Trimmed with broad lace and thinner seaming and pasting laces. The broad lace has a curly vine motif, the pasting lace is quite plain and the seaming lace is a spiral design. The front panel has 2 glazed windows with shutters and pink silk blinds at the top below this is a flat front panel covered in silk with a wide flapped pocket which is trimmed with broad lace. There is a glass string for each window made from broad lace with a leather backing and a toggle and tassel at the end. The doors are covered in silk with pasting lace around the frame and window. There is a narrow flapped pocket on each door and a glass string for each made in the same way as the ones on the front panel. The glass string from the left door has become detached and was lying on the floor of the coach with the following items: a length of pasting lace, a piece of webbing with a leather strap attached, 2 pieces of leather form the exterior, a yellow and red wool exterior strap with tassel and 1 pale blue silk cord with tassel.

The window blinds are made from rose pink silk, they are sewn onto fabric covered metal rollers which are held in metal fixings. Each blind has a wooden dowel sewn in to the hem to weigh it down and has a pink silk fringed tassel in the centre. There are also smaller tassels on one side of the roller, presumably used to adjust the blind. The ceiling is lined with silk and has a seam running down the centre. The steps fold up against the door when it is closed and have a quilted top which is edged with broad lace. The standing surfaces of the steps are covered in blue wool carpet and the flexible sides are pale green silk velvet with leather backing. The same blue carpet is used in the floor of the carriage and on the thresholds.

The back wall consists of a quilted upper panel with a window flap in the centre all covered in silk with horsehair stuffing and silk covered buttons. The back squab is made in the same way with only 2 lines of buttons along the top. Pasting lace is used to disguise the join between this and the upper panel and to edge the window flap. The loose seat cushion is a rectangular shape with rounded corners and 3 lines of quilting. The edge is trimmed with broad and seaming lace. Hanging from the seat is a pleated silk valence with broad lace along the hem. The side panels are made in the same way as the upper panel with the addition of an arm rest on each side. There is also a pillar holder and a hanging holder on each side made form broad lace backed with silk and softly padded. The hanging holder has a toggle 1/3rd from the top and the pillar holder has a toggle and tassel at the end.

The mantle is made from blue heavy, fulled wool with a hessian interlining and yellow twill woven cotton lining and strong cotton tape binding the inside edge. There is 1 line of decorative braid along the top and 2 at the hem made from linen base with cotton velvet pile and silk in red and yellow wavy stripes. It is sewn to the mantle by hand with white linen thread. Missing 2 insignia plaques from the sides.
