Tureen, cover and stand

Swansea China Works

Tureen, cover, and stand, soft-paste porcelain; tureen standing on a narrow pedestal foot, curved and ridged octagonal sides to shoulder, concave curve to lip; upturned double spindle handles with floret discs, and beaded moulding around shoulder; ogee curved cover with a pinecone finial; stand on a straight sided foot rim, curving into slightly cushion moulded and straight spreading sides, with lobed and beaded lip, and cruciform moulding; painted all over with sprays of two or three full bloom pink roses and butterflies; decorative c-scroll gilt pattern above foot rim; gilt bands to foot rim, shoulder, lip, and beaded moulding banded by gilt lines; gilt handles and finial.
