Sugar caster
Sugar sifter or caster and cover, sterling silver, convex rounded base and bulbous lower body, tapering at the upper part and slightly flaring to where the cover meets the body, the cover has straight, angular sides and is broadest at the neck, the upper surface is flat and pierced at the centre, with rows of three piercings radiating from the centre to outer edge, the cover attaches to the body via two locating pins, locking into place when turned in an anti-clockwise direction; the main body is planished and the hammer marks are left visible, the cover has been textured at the sides with close rows of chased vertical dashes, the upper surface is plain, the whole surface has been polished.
