Inkwell
Inkwell, glazed earthenware, squat, bottle-shape body with a circular base with bevelled edge, the sides flaring slightly to a distinct shoulder, circular mouth with a thickened, short neck, possibly formed by folding over the clay at leather hard stage; the inkwell is made from earthenware with a grey matrix and grit inclusions, an orange-brown slip and grey glaze has been applied to the mouth and body of the inkwell, a slither of extraneous clay has adhered to the glaze at the shoulder before firing.
