A letter [1824] from the Rev. Archdeacon Thomas Beynon (Llandeilo) to Dr. Davies (Newcastle Emlyn) concerning a pedigree and the state of his health -'...my health, which I thank God, is perfect. My spirits are good; may appetite is good, and I sleep six or seven hours every night without once turning in bed. In short, I am as well, or even better , than I was fifty years ago. My handwriting you see is very steady for a man within a few weeks of seventy nine. You told me, I remember, about fifteen years ago, that I would live to Eighty. Having nearly attained that period, what longer furlough will you not allow me? I shall expect ten or a dozen years at least...'
