Roman copper alloy bow brooch
The lower part of a bow brooch similar to 88.165H/13 but smaller and without flanges. There is a small knobbed foot and a pierced catchplate. There is no decoration visible on the narrow tapered bow but the fold of the catchplate carries tranverse line ornament. The brooch was discovered in a mid second century context but the crude piercing of the catchplate indicates a date of manufacture probably before the close of the first century.
