Milk jug, soft-paste porcelain with good white translucency, oblong `London' shape with spreading lip and pronounced mould lines, tapering loop handle with acanthus thumbpiece; decorated on the sides in polychrome enamels with genre scenes of (a) a seated woman selling fruit from a barrow to a girl and a boy, an older man with a crop sitting on a bank to the left, (b) an infantryman in uniform and woman selling flowers from a basket both sitting on the steps of a stone building, standing to their left a woman and a boy, gilded edging to the rim, shoulder, foot and handle, a gilded scrolling border below each scene.
