Late Bronze Age amber bead
Large, irregular bead, vaguley biconical with a drop shaped profile and circular facets on either side surrounding the cylindrical peforation. The shape suggests it may once have been part of a graduated necklace, such as those from Holyhead and Llangwyllog, there are also signs of wear around the top edge of the perforation which supports this idea. Similarly irregular beads are also known from Late Bronze Age contexts at Potterne and Runnymede (Beck and Shennan 1991).
