Dish
Dish, of buff earthenware, standing on a flat circular base, the sides rising steeply, ending in a waved outer rim; the earthenware body covered with a pale-blue tinged tin-glaze, the body emerging through the glaze in places as a pale peach tone; painted in underglaze blue, in the centre, with two putti, one winged, standing, the other unwinged and seated, both gesturing with bent arms to either side; an insect hovers above to one side, to the other, an elaborately scrolled cartouche, infilled with lattice work patterning and issuing conventional foliage; beneath the outer rim, a narrow line and wave border.
