Roman samian bowl
The ovolo is narrow and has a roesette tipped tongue. There is a narrow border beneath it of small triple leaves, while the main area of decoration is panelled. Panels of cruciform patterns alternate with plain double medallions containing two lions running to the right. There is a basal wreath of small chevrons. The lion is O.1417, and is commonly used in Flavian work.
