Upper Palaeolithic flint penknife point
A Final Palaeolithic penknife point. The tool is heavily patinated and very stained and weathered. Its backed edge is very thick giving it a triangular cross-section. The backed edge is convex in form whilst the unmodified edge is straight, tapering to the basal point. The tool has a burin-like impact fracture at its tip suggesting it was a hunting loss.
