Small embroidered sampler (referred to as a 'mini protest banner') made at a workshop led by Sarah Corbett, founder of the Craftivist Collective. The workshop, held at St Fagans: National History Museum in June 2012, was organised to coincide with Refugee Week and the Refugee House exhibition.

Printed cotton, with vertical stripes in shades of blue, pink and green. There are two metal eyelets (one in each top corner) to enable the 'banner' to be displayed in a public space. A piece of white block weave canvas has been applied onto the cotton. The canvas has been embroidered with the inscription 'MOST ASYLUM SEEKERS ARE LIVING IN POVERTY'. The Craftivist Collective label has been stitched diagonally over the canvas, bottom the right.

A rectangle of Aida fabric (115mm x 78mm) is hand-stitched to a fine, printed, tabby-woven cotton fabric with a row of cross stitches using 3 strands of green embroidery thread. Its edges are unfinished. On it is a text, embroidered in blue and dark red embroidery thread. Two metal eyelets (Ø 7mm) have been inserted on the upper corners of the printed cotton fabric. The proper right eyelet has a white coating. The design of the printed cotton fabric has thin, irregular, vertical lines of light blue, pink and green. Its edges are trimmed with pinking shears to prevent fraying. A white synthetic ribbon (width 12mm) has been stitched diagonally across the lower proper left quarter of the 'sampler'. It is held in place by four small crosses using three strands of red embroidery thread. Its proper left side also has pinked edges. It has a woven weft-faced inscription in purple.
