Costrel
Costrel or bottle, pale buff coloured earthenware, standing on a waisted slightly spreading thickly moulded foot, globular body with several shallow incised rtings around the upper body, vertical neck tapering to thickly rounded lip-rim, further shallow incised rings to the neck giving a corded effect, the neck flanked on either side by two small roughly formed handles, pierced through the centre to allow the costrel to be suspended from something; the upper portion of the body, the neck, the handles and the interior lip-rim covered in a mottled green glaze, several holes in the lower part of the body.
