Pardoe, Thomas (1770-1823)
Plate, soft-paste porcelain, creamy translucency, standing on a tapering foot rim, spreading sides; the rim moulded in six large and six small lobes with foliate c-scroll moulding; the centre painted with two pheasants, one seated amongst foliage on the ground, the other in the branch of a tree above, bending its neck to look at the bird below, purple and lilac hued trees in the background, mountains and possibly an expanse of water with a cloudy lavender coloured sky; the rim with a deep blue ground, unfinished with blurred and feathered edges to the colouration.
