Pot-lid
Pot-lid, earthenware, circular shape with cylindrical flange and convex top; the upperside of the lid decorated with an underglaze polychrome transfer-print of 'Rifle Contest, Wimbledon 1867', showing an outdoors scene with in the foreground groups of figures, some on horseback, and tents, and in the background figures shooting at ranks of targets, around the bottom of the scene is printed the inscription "RIFLE CONTEST WIMBLEDON 1867" , the print enclosed by a narrow circular line border. The glaze crazed.
