Early Medieval silver arm ring
Silver arm ring of broad-band type with stamped decoration. The stamps comprise "arrowhead" type punches, the point having a straight indented head and the base having a straight indented edge. The tapering ends have a transversely punched design of trellis pattern. This example is remarkable for its fine condition and complete state, as arm rings were often cut up as hack silver to form part of an active bullion economy.
