Medieval copper alloy ring mail
Copper alloy rings with the ends in each case hammered flat and riveted together.
Martijn A. Wijnhoven confirmed during visit to NRLM (21-22 March 2016) that these rings are constructed in a way that developed in the 13th century. He dates this example to the 14th or 15th centuries AD. He cites the method of overlap and the lentoid or triangular rivet holes as typologically deterministic and beyond doubt. Mark Lewis 22-iii-16
