Alpha ('Alpha' is the name given to an unknown factory, producer of a recognisable group of high quality Staffordshire figures. See Gordon-Pugh 1981 p11 for a note on this factory.)
Figure of Eliza Cook, white earthenware, crackle glaze, standing on a roughly oval plinth incribed in impressed gilt capitals and with a gilt sprig at either end. Wearing a green, red and blue tartan striped skirt over an orange underskirt spotted in black, a pink bodice sprigged with a deeper pink, yellow jacket, blue necklace, naturalistically coloured face, brown ringlets. Holding a black book in her right hand.
