Iron Age / Roman copper alloy ingot
Part of a flat, rectangular ingot, with a small piece detached from it by the finder (04.155/2). At the opposite end are chisel marks indicating that a piece was cut off from here in antiquity.

Site Name: Nant-y-cafn, Seven Sisters
Collection Method: surface find
Date: 1875
Notes: Found in the bed of a small mountain stream, a tributary of Nant-y-cafn, somewhere within an 80m length of the stream; the coordinates stated above therefore indicate only the general area of the findspot. Buried in the middle of the first century AD during the Roman conquest of Wales.
