Roman samian bowl, decorated
Panel decoration, demarcated by fine bead-rows. Caryatid (D.655).Below a six lobed-rosette. In divided metope, a stag running to left (cf.D.874). Upper and lower panels seperated by a plain triple moulding, bordered above and below by bead-rows, terminating in an astragalus motif. Good, velvety, yellowish-red glaze and unusually fine modelling.
