Pot-lid, earthenware, circular shape with cylindrical flange and convex top; the upperside of the lid decorated with an underglaze polychrome transfer-print of 'The Shepherd Boy' (although this title is not recorded on the lid), showing a rural scene with the figure of a young boy seated under a tree with a dog before him and sheep grazing in the background, the scene extends to the rim of the lid with no border.
