Milk jug
Milk jug, hard-paste porcelain, boat-shaped form with short foot-rim, bulbous sides, wide spout and high square shouldered handle; transfer-printed in pale underglaze blue with around the exterior sides the 'Pagoda' pattern, an oriental-style pattern with pagodas and islands, around the upper rim and the interior of the spout a 'Fitzhugh-type' border of interlinked cell motifs, scrolls and moths, a gilt line around the edge of the upper rim, the handle picked out in gilt.
