Cup and saucer
Cup, hard-paste porcelain, standing on a short cylindrical foot-rim, cylindrical sides tapering inwards towards the foot-rim, very slightly flaring lip-rim, double-curved loop handle; finely painted in polychrome enamels with to the front of the cup a formal garden scene showing a standing male figure and a seated female figure, around the rest of the exterior sides of the cup scattered floral and foliate sprigs, a puce edge to the lip-rim, the handle picked out in puce. Two narrow cracks extend down one side of the body from a chip to the lip-rim. Saucer, hard-paste porcelain, standing on a short cylindrical foot-rim, rounded curving sides; finely painted in polychrome enamels with to the centre of the well a scene showing a reclining male figure and a seated female figure in a rural setting with trees and bushes, scattered sprigs of flowers around the sides of the well, a puce edge to the rim. A narrow crack to one side of the rim.
