Soft toy of Mother Clanger based on the children’s animation The Clangers, first broadcast on the BBC in 1969.

Since the 1950s, many of the most popular toys and games in Wales have been inspired by iconic BBC children’s television programmes.

Soft toy with battery operated mechanism inside. Figure is standing upright on black feet, has a long snout, black eyes, pink round ears, and is wearing a blue bow tie in its brown hair. It is also wearing a red felt top which is printed in yellow and brown and is fastened with Velcro at the centre back. Made from pink knitted material, eyes made from black plastic, 'hair' is made from strips of brown plush fabric, bow tie is made from blue napped fabric. Inner ears are made from soft pink plush fabric. Fingers are made from 4 lengths of braided pink cord. Feet are made from black velvet material. Feet and legs have a plastic interior which allows the figure to stand upright. End of the snout is made from grey fabric. Back of the figure is fastened with Velcro to allow access to plastic battery compartment. Mechanism operates on three AA batteries. White printed label attached to left side seam.
