Roll of honour
Painted bronze or brass first world war memorial plaque with inscriptions and plain borders embossed in relief, headed “To the honoured memory of those employed by William Hancock and Company Limited who fought and died for their country 1914-1918.” Single panel within plain borders. Lists 31 names in by surname and initials, each with regiment/corps or branch of service, in a single column. The first 27 names are in alphabetical order, the last four are in random order. All lettering and borders are embossed polished metal, the recessed background is patinated a very dark brown-black, the metal of the background being lightly textured.
