white cotton pocket, of double - weave cotton with raised diamond pattern; slit at front for access; machine stitched seam; hand stitched hem at slit and waist tape handstitched to pocket.
The front and back of this pocket are each made of one piece of unlined cotton woven in a raised diaper pattern. The front and back are extended at the top by small inserts of plain weave cotton. The ties are formed by a length of tape attached at the top of the pocket. There are small stains and wear on the back and front. [Desciption by Barbara Burman: Pockets of History Project]
