Slate fan
40 thin blades, with carved edges, bolted to a carved slate stand with heavy slate base.
A fine example of a slate fan; these were very popular and demanded a great deal of skill in order to split the slate in to pieces. This fan was made by the donor's father, Robert Roberts, Hebog, Glasfryn Terrace, Beddgelert as a wedding present for the donor.
