Harp
Triple harp made by John Richards, Llanrwst, yet possesing silver plate indicating that it was made, or at least mended, by 19th century harp maker Bassett Jones.
The Welsh tradition of harp playing owes its survival to a Romany family. This harp belonged to John Roberts, a descendant of Abram Wood. There were about twenty harpists in the family. With their harps on their backs, they travelled from farm to farm. They helped with the harvest by day and entertained the farmers with their harps by night.
John Roberts and his family also played for Queen Victoria. This demonstrates how highly regarded they were.
